Project HEARTcore

WHAT is it?

Project HEARTcore is a FREE after-school program that empowers youth to make a difference in their school and community. If you like helping people around you and have a passion for getting involved in bettering the lives of others, then HEARTcore will guide you through various workshops and activities that will help you to do this! The workshops and activities will be FUN, interactive, reflective and the best part is, you’ll be able to meet other youth in the community who share the same passion as you!

WHO is this program for?

This program is for youth who love having fun, getting to know other people, and like doing awareness campaigns, fundraisers, local events. You must also be in grades 9 to 12 to register for this program! Some exceptions can be made, you just have to talk with the coordinator!

WHEN is it?

Students can apply for HEARTcore in the fall or spring. The fall program runs from October to the end of January and the spring program runs from March to the middle of June. Students have the option of choosing between going to the program on Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays. It runs from 4:00pm to 5:30 pm.

HOW we do it?

HEARTcore participants have made a difference in many creative ways. They have held candy-cane-ograms, book drives, toy drives, bake sales, talent shows, simple awareness campaigns in their school, basketball tournaments, and even video game tournaments! The resources are also given to the participants once they decide on an event.
